You ask for my review so here it is.
I have had an extremely disappointing experience with Mercedes Benz of Augusta service department over the past several years. Based on my experience, they are not adequately equipped to diagnose and repair their own product, Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, and I have serious concerns about their professionalism, communication, bogus parts needed, outrageous pricing and customer service.
I could write a book about everything I've experienced, but I’ll just name a few.
On one occasion, I was charged thousands of dollars for parts the dealership claimed my Mercedes Benz Sprinter rear A/C needed. After the repairs and thousands of dollars the unit was still not in working condition , I was told the entire unit needed to be replaced for a total replacement cost of $8000. The parts I had already paid for were never removed as I was adamant I wanted a refund and parts removed , and I was never offered a refund for the unnecessary work.
During another visit, the technicians damaged my rear A/C cover and never informed me. I later discovered it had been reinstalled with black puddy with wires secured with zip ties.
Needed replacement bulbs in rear cabin, service department replaced them but stated they didn’t work, and was quoted $1,200 for a new wiring system to fix the cabin lights. When I picked up my Sprinter, I simply pressed the switch on dashboard and to my amazement the lights worked perfectly. I even sent a photo to my service advisor showing the issue was resolved without any repairs, but I never received a response.
After having four new tires installed, I was told all four tire pressure sensors had failed and would cost $200 per wheel to replace. The sensors were working before the service I refused that service drove off, As it turned out, all the tires needed was additional air pressure and a reset. The sensors functioned normally after that.
The service manager consistently dismissed my concerns. Whenever I tried to explain an issue or respond to what he was saying , I was interrupted with, "Can I just tell you what the issue is?" That's not how customers should be treated.
One service advisor even described my Mercedes-Benz Sprinter as a "Friday afternoon build," implying it was poorly assembled at the factory. That's an alarming statement to make to someone who has spent more than $20,000 on repairs over the past four years, in addition to the $50,000 purchasing the van.
Most recently TODAY July 29, 2026 I was quoted another $2,990 to repair an issue that has been not working and has existed for over two years.
There is a known workaround that would have allowed me to safely continue using the vehicle, but the service manager insisted Mercedes-Benz would never authorize it. Ironically, another service advisor had previously told me that same workaround was possible during my visit last February 2025 for the exact same issue. Instead, they sent me home today in a vehicle that was still leaking coolant without any apparent concern.
We’re a non profit organization that saves animals from the Augusta Ga area and travel up north for adoptions. Not once have they helped us with cost or concerns.
Overall, my experience has been defined by poor leadership, poor communication, questionable repair recommendations, and a lack of accountability. After everything I've experienced which is a lot more , I have lost confidence in this dealership and, unfortunately, in the Mercedes-Benz brand itself. I cannot recommend Mercedes-Benz of Augusta to anyone. The dealership's reviews speak for themselves just look them up.
